It’s been about a year since I’ve posted anything but the neglect is over. I hit a “writers block” as I have a few times before but this time around I struggled more than usual to find motivation. The current pandemic certainly didn’t help.
But moving on, autumn colours started and in a moment of madness I indulged in an expensive bout of retail therapy and treated myself to a new camera.
All this combined to re-motivate me, and I’m setting a target of getting out and shooting at least once a week come wind, rain, shine or Covid. Also I have a new project starting, but I’ll keep that to myself for the time being and begin writing about it once I have gained some momentum.
Throughout this year so far, I haven’t totally stopped photography but it has been sparse and sporadic. Just the other night I had a look through my photo collection for 2020 and picked out my favourites. In this post I am sharing them. Difficult to choose one Richie, gonna say the crumbling caps, ‘cos I enjoyed morning out before this lockdown, the colours of autumn – well because the glowing colours and the lone jogger because of the feeling and enjoy the symmetry.
Thanks Thrity, I’m really pleased with “Lone jogger”. As I approached the scene I was walking quickly to try and capture three folks walking away from me, but they disappeared below the horizon before I could take the shot. I decided to wait to see what might happen and within a couple of minutes the jogger appeared. And it’s not every day you see a sky like that, and that mist just perfectly isolates the jogger. Well chuffed. 😉
Beautiful work Richee. Trooping Crumble Caps is my fave. I love their sense of magnitude, the detail and colour contrast.
Although some may suggest it’s because I am starting to crumble at the edges a bit, too.
Thanks Mark, was tricky to capture for various technical reasons, so pleased it worked out well in the end and I could not have hoped for better light.
Richard, hi! I always like your photographs and you are an amazing photographer! Some of your works remind me of classical paintings though usually it is the opposite: paintings are compared with photographs:) Your photographs have artistic quality and tell a story and this is what I love the most. I will be looking for new stories to come!
